Santiago Cohen attended art school in Mexico followed by an MFA at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. His illustrations have appeared in major newspapers, magazines and books. Santiago has designed Christmas cards for MoMA in NY, he has been an award film animation director and designer for R.O. Blechman at the Ink Tank company in New York, and his work includes: Troubles the Cat, produced by the Cartoon Network and CTW, Children's Television Network, openers for the French TF! Films for HBO children's specials; two of the programs won an Emmy and a Peabody award. Santiago has had individual and collective fine art shows in the New York area and Mexico. Santiago has painted several children's books for Grosset & Dunlap, Chronicle Books, Warner Books, Golden Books and Houghton Mifflin Co. His graphic novel "The Fifth Name" received a grant from the Xeric Foundation.
